Nea Skioni Chalkidiki, Greece

Nea Skioni is a picturesque fishing village, with a harbour that has been characterized as "a fishing shelter", located in the southwest part of the Kassandra peninsula about 120 kilometers (75 minute drive) from Thessaloniki. Nea Skioni is 5 km away from the thermal baths of Loutra - Agia Paraskevi, 5 km from Chanioti, about 14 km from Possidi and 14 km from Paliouri villages.

Nea Skioni is a village that overlooks the Aegean Sea where olive trees, fruit trees and pine trees intermingle before reaching its beautiful beaches. The village has the "flavor" of Ancient Skioni, one of the oldest and most important cities of Pallini peninsula. Its "Panagitsa", a 16th century church dedicated to Virgin Mary, is located on the seaside of "Panagia Faneromeni" and celebrates with festivities every year on August 22n and 23rd. "Tsaprani" is the area where the old village was located at an altitude of about 200 meters above the sea level, where one can find the old church of Agia Triada (Holy Trinity) and where festivities are held every year on the day of the Holy Spirit.

The first week of August, Nea Skioni celebrates the Gavros fish festival with cultural events that last for three days. Food and drinks are offered under the beautiful sounds of artful folk and traditional music groups, and theater performances.

The village has three spectacular and clean beaches that have been awarded the "blue flag award" for several years. The large playground on the main beach offers long hours of carefree and safe play for children.

Nea Skioni offers picturesque fish tavernas and pizza restaurants famous for the quality of food, for all budgets. The village shops provide for comfortable living without denying the opportunity for quiet holidays.

A pharmacy is located in the village while a health center can be found in Kassandria about 25 km (20 minute drive) from Nea Skioni.
